World Voice News Job Offer Scam

Another letter with the promise of a job and all the charm of a bot generated scam. Not a lot posted on the web about this one, one poor soul who decides it is probably worth pursuing and another who pointed to the article linked above. Moral of the story: applier beware.

Thanks to JJ Allen who wrote the article.

A google search offered two ASG paid for links to sites defending themselves against hate-mongers and libelous attacks. Not good.

SweetJesusTunaSalad! Job seekers beware.

Thankfully I am not actually in need of a job, just looking for new scenery, new challenges.

We're going to need a bigger boat.

Last weekend I posted my resume to several major job boards thinking that it might be a viable way to find a new position, possibly even in a new area of the country. I was delighted to see that by the next day I had a few letters from potential employers. As I read along, it was pretty clear that most were "make money from home using your computer while you sleep" (nice trick, btw) and insurance brokers seeking potential salespeople.

No big deal, clearly just the bottom feeders. Delete, quit, sprinkle fairy dust on my computer and know that tomorrow will be a better day. HA!

Tomorrow not only did not bring better things, it brought an alarming amount of seemingly promising letters. Next post... the poison in the promise.
